10 Reasons Search Engines Love Blogs

Commonly debated topic on the Web pertains to the belief that search engines love blogs.  It is contested that blogs are essential marketing tools.  Traditional entrepreneurs looking to cross over Ecommerce find this difficult to understand.

Here are ten reasons why search engines seem to love blogs:

1. Frequent Updates

Search engines place newly-indexed sites on the upper level of the search engine.  These pages are ranked and compared to updates before.  Frequent updates mean search engine spiders are happy.  This is because they are fed new content.

2. Keyword-rich

Not all blog posts should be novels.  Blogs which are used for marketing are preferred when it is short and direct.  Blog posts that are succinct and pithy tend to be keyword-rich.  This will still favor indexing.

3. Blogging Platforms use Title Tags

Blogging platforms optimize the way your site looks.  It creates automatic on-site search engine optimization.  Creating title tags from your post topics is one of its capabilities.  An effective way to boost your rankings is to use title tags.

4. Cross-linking

Linking to other blogs is a sign of courtesy.  Many blogs link back as part of the blogosphere code of etiquette. This method of indirect back link solicitation works well for blogs.  This also goes for blogs of the same niche.

5. Use of Anchor-links

Using anchor links is another on-site search engine optimization technique.  Spiders index links become part of the weight.  Tags should go with them using highly relevant keyword text.  It will add to the weight of the web site as a whole.

Blog posts are usually tagged into separate categories for better content management.  These tags help readers locate specific blog posts.  These tags are also dual-purpose since they serve as keywords.

The importance of content quality in a web site is highly disputed.   Content quality is optimized for search engines.  Spiders cannot judge content quality since it is highly subjective.

Content quality means that the content should have relevant terms.  These are for frequently queried keywords.

10. Simple Navigation

Search engine spiders quickly find its way to different blog pages due to common blogging practices.  Blogging practices would include linking to other posts, linking to other blogs, and tagging posts.
