Drive Traffic to Your Site with RSS Feeds

Friday, June 5th, 2009

RSS for most web sites can easily be deployed using RunStream. It is more convenient to access search engines such as Google Blog search and Yahoo News Search among others when providing RSS feed to your website.

You can use simple ‘live bookmark’ to the pages of your site.  These services will instantaneously recognize that you have updated a particular website content.  There is no need to wait for Google to search when an additional article has been added.  A ping will immediately be sent to 16 search engines.  They will immediately include updated content in their lists.

Another method is by submitting RSS to Yahoo. Your feed will be forwarded once it has been validated and approved. Users should hit the Add Content tab on My Yahoo. This will present two options. One option is: Find Content.  This option permits them to look for syndicated content right in the Yahoo! Feed Database.  The second option is: Browse by Topic.  This allows users to navigate the Browse-by-Topic Directory of feeds.

The feed will be automatically added to the database of Yahoo! Feed.  This is done with every subscription.  Manual submission is no longer necessary, especially if a number of users have already subscribed to your feed.
